General Choir

“Forgiving grateful praise. Shout for joy to the LORD, all the earth.
Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.” Psalms 100:1-2

The General Choir started in the middle of the year 2013 and is one of the five (5) Choirs of the Revival Pentecostal Church. The General Choir leads all other choirs, particularly during Saturday and Sunday Services. This choir performs praise and worship songs from Hymns books written in Kirundi and Swahili languages.

The main purpose of establishing this choir was to lead the church gathering through singing and praising God using songs from the Hymns Books in Kirundi and Swahili.

The objectives of the choir center on our theme verse:

“About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them.” Acts 16:25

The main objective of this choir is to lead the church gathering in honouring God through praise and worship songs based on Hymns books. The choir members of this group are mindful of the importance of honouring God through praise and worship songs. The General choir is equipped with different Hymns books.

Just like other Choirs, the other objectives of this choir are:

  • Spreading the Word of God
  • Growing Spiritually
  • Glorifying God
  • Sharing Christ’s love in actions and words

Despite being an active church member who was baptised by immersion and follows the rules of the General Choir; such person(s) is subject to the scrutiny of church leaders who can decide on who is to be a member of this choir.

The scrutiny is based on the following factors:

  • Must be baptised (baptism by immersion) and must be an active Church member
  • Be able to read
  • Displaying good behaviour and character
  • Showing participatory spirit in Church activities

The Church Leadership encourage more church members to join the General Choir. It plays a big role in creating a spiritual atmosphere during the time of praise and worship. The church gathering is lifted in spirit and every person present feels the presence of the Holy Spirit.

Thank you for your interest and time spent in finding out about the General Choir. Should you need to know more about this Choir, please contact the leadership of the Church and you will get more light.
